Galeries St. Hubert
Conceived in 1837 by Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert are inaugurated ten years later by King Leopold I.. This monumental shift brings the Queen's Gallery, the Galerie du Roi and the Hall of Princes .
By designing for the first time in the world a passage to the dimensions of the street, Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar created a place that has become a link between the various functions of the city: cultural spaces, habitats, shops, offices , restaurants and cafes mix there for over 150 years.
Even today, the Galeries de la Reine, the King and the Princes are led by 6 million passersby each year. The passage is at once a microcosm, a place of memory and creation, where past, present and future are inextricably mixed.
