This collection of Photoshop layer styles and wooden backgrounds makes stunning carved wood effects in seconds.

All of the textures and backgrounds in the previews were sampled from real pieces of wood, giving the designs a feel that is about as realistic as it gets. These effects are perfect for a variety of vintage themed projects, menus, cards, invites and loads more.

There are two ways to use The Wood Carver:

1. Open one of the smart PSDs, click on a smart object layer (this will open into a new document window), paste your design into it and save.

1. Simply place text or an image onto one of the wooden background PSDs then apply one of the styles by clicking on a style icon.

Very detailed instructions are included including how to expand the styles for greater editing potential. For example how to rotate the wood texture pattern and how to change it's color.

So, what exactly is included?

Using real wood textures (carved by myself!) and in 12 varieties so you can apply the styles to text, bitmap and vector images with one click. The effects used in the styles can be easily scaled and edited after application.

Each of first four preview images have been supplied as shown. Paste your own designs straight in.

The Wooden Backgrounds:

These are the backgrounds shown in the first four previews plus two bonus ones. You'll find them in the smart PSDs. They each measure 2320 x 1544 pixels in size.

Wood shavings and vintage chisel images:

Each is contained in a PSD - use these to add further realism to your design.

A very thorough guide on how to load, apply and then edit the effects is supplied. Please read carefully all the way through as it provides all the information you might need on how to load and use these effects.
